“Morbid Romantic” is Rachael’s debut release on MPress, and marks the beginning of the transition from her teenage years as a synth-pop (yes it’s true!) artist into a more acoustic, soulful folk-pop songwriter. In addition to the cynical-romantic subject matter its title implies, Rachael also deals with topics of racial, sexual and religious discrimination with the powerful songs “The Spirit We” (Disc Makers Contest Finalist), “Stone,” and “Language of Flowers”.
